The CENTURION XTrac - Quiet, Safe and Reliable

Unless you are currently the proprietor of a haunted mansion, you probably don’t want your garage to sound like a medieval dungeon, complete with chain clatter.  There is something just a little bit disconcerting about opening your garage door only to be greeted by the sound of metal seemingly being subjected to severe torture.

Previously, that is what most garage door operators provided.  Slow operation and horrible, horrible noise.

But the CENTURION Xtrac changed all that, with whisper-quiet operation and a door travel speed in excess of 100 mm/second; for those of you keeping score, that’s an incredible six metres per minute!  Take into account that most garage doors are only about two metres high, and you can see why the XTrac steals the show when it comes to reliable garage door automation.
In addition to the XTrac’s impressive speed and respect for the sanctity of silence, it also comes equipped with a wireless wall switch and onboard CENTURION code-hopping receiver to facilitate convenient remote operation.

CENTURION XTrac Garage Door Operator

But what really makes the XTrac such a worthy automation solution, is how easy it is to install.  From the rock solid towing bracket to the easy-to-assemble extrusion, everything is custom-engineered to make the installation process a pleasurable and effortless one.
As with all our products, great care has also been taken to ensure that the XTrac is as safe as it is swift, and as secure as it is silent.  Intelligent anti-crushing protection is built into the operator’s circuitry – and can be adjusted to suit the site’s unique profile – while a reliable manual release mechanism allows the gearbox to be overridden in any position.

The world we live in is noisy enough, so let’s get behind the XTrac and take a stand against chain clatter!

Grand Designs Live 2012 Entertains In Grand Fashion

This past weekend saw South Africa’s foremost contemporary lifestyle show playing host to the who’s who of home improvement and, of course, CENTURION was there to fly the flag for gate automation.

And fly it high we did, with regular showstoppers such as the D2 Turbo and G-SWITCH-22 making quite the impression with turbo speed and ultra-intelligent access control capabilities respectively.  The XTrac garage door operator wowed visitors to the CENTURION stand with its whisper-quiet operation, while the SMARTGUARD keypad remains a fan favourite as a staple of keyless access control.  Nary a soul left the stand that wasn’t amazed at how easy this versatile device is to install.
We also offered visitors the opportunity to have their CENTURION remotes serviced right there at the show, and we daresay we left many a Grand Designs patron happily clicking away on their good-as-new (and ultra-secure, we might add) transmitters.

We’re thrilled to report that we’ve made many new friends and garnered many fans during the course of this show  - here’s to many more years of making The Automatic Choice!

Comprehensive Gate Automation with the D10 Turbo

Everyone knows that life is about sacrifice and compromise.  Our existence is dictated by a sort of universal truth that states “you can’t have your cake and eat it”.  But CENTURION has taken this rather paradoxical statement and said, “What is cake for if not for eating?”

Thus was born the D10 Turbo.  We realised that there are absolutely no compromises to be made when it comes to home and personal security, and that a gate motor was needed that would offer the whole package without skimping on the essentials.

CENTURION D10 Turbo Sliding Gate Operator
Like a fine, high-performance sports car, the D10 Turbo was originally built for speed.  With a top speed of 50 metres per minute, this expeditious operator opens and closes lighter gates at a velocity that can only be described as “lightning-like”.   The benefits to having such a speedy sprinter for a gate motor is twofold:  Firstly, there are few things in life more frustrating than coming home after a long day’s work and having to wait for an entrance gate to creep open at a pace akin to that of an aged sloth.  The second benefit has to do with seated poultry.  Yip; when we have to wait for a slow gate to allow us into the property, we become sitting ducks for criminals.  The D10 Turbo allows for ultra-fast opening and closing, leaving potential intruders in the dust.

So that’s speed covered.  But what about power?
Simply put, the D10 Turbo has plenty of it, and is able to run gates weighing up to a ton if the operator running speed is adjusted accordingly.  The table below denotes the maximum operator running speed with corresponding maximum gate mass.

Even with an extremely heavy load, the D10 Turbo runs like greased lightning.
Finally, there is the issue of intelligence.  Suffice it to say, the advanced D10 Turbo electronic controller will score in the top of its class if it ever had to take a SAT test.  Its user-friendly LCD interface and easy-to navigate menus make it the smartest industrial gate motor by far.

Speed, power and intelligence – it’s all in a day’s work for our fastest operator yet!
